Meet the Staff Series

I am Monica Lopes. This is my 5th year at Willett but my third year as a 2nd grade teacher. I live with my husband, Jesue, who is in the Army and our two year old daughter, Penelope. We have a baby boy on the way. I love to play Soccer and play on co-ed leagues. This summer was quite the adventure as I got to finally visit Santa Maria, Azores where my family is from. When I am not at Willett, you can often find me trying out new coffee shops and restaurants. In the Fall, I love doing all kinds of Fall activities like pumpkin/apple picking, Fall Festivals and baking.

My name is Karen Tolbert and I teach second grade at Willett.  I have worked for the Attleboro Public Schools (as a sub and classroom teacher) since my daughter, Emily, was in the first grade at Willett, 19 years ago.  I live locally with my husband, Jayson, Emily, and her two cats, Lucy and Marleigh.  It’s hard to believe that Emily is now a clinical therapist, having graduated from Providence College (as a psychology major), and Boston University, with a Masters Degree in Social Work. For fun, I enjoy traveling, relaxing at the beach, and reading a good book.  I also enjoy trying new recipes!

Hi! My name is Lizzie Burbine and I am the BCBA for Studley, Willett, and Hill-Roberts Elementary. I was a special education teacher for the past two years in the Insights program at Thacher Elementary School. I love the variety of each day and the relationships built working in schools. I’m so excited to start my journey at Studley! I have my Masters degree in Special Education: Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. I was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Attleboro two years ago with my husband and two dogs. Outside of school we love to go to the beach, hike, and play board games.
